Etiquette Guide

Appointment Times

Please arrive on time or a few minutes before your appointment time, as we wish you to get the most out of your treatment and it may be cut short if you are late.

Massage Attire

Please wear the massage clothes given to you, or appropriate massage attire. Men must wear their underwear.

Cancellations

We do not operate a policy for charging for cancellations, therefore we respectfully ask guests to inform us as soon as possible if they have to cancel, as this obviously impacts on our bookings schedule.

Etiquette

Unfortunately Thailand, due to complex socio-economic factors, has become a destination for sex tourism. A minority of young women desperate to support their families have decided to make money through prostitution, sometimes through no choice of their own.  This has led to some massage parlours becoming a front for brothels and consequently Thai massage has gained a bad reputation. However, the ancient Buddhist traditions of genuine Thai massage existed well before this and continue to do so within many massage practices.

Please be aware that Kanchana Massage is based on these Buddhist principles of respect and dignity. We offer high quality massage treatments and massage treatments only. THIS IS NOT A SEXUAL SERVICE. Please do not embarrass yourself and Kanchana by asking for, or expecting anything else.

Medical

Guests who have high blood pressure, heart conditions, allergies, or any other medical complications are advised to consult their doctors before booking treatments. Kindly inform Kanchana of any existing medical conditions. Kanchana is unable to provide treatments for guests who are pregnant, have given birth in the last 3 months or suffer from diabetes or varicose thrombosis.

Gift Certificates and refunds

Gift vouchers are available for all treatments. Payment is accepted by cash or credit card/debit cards online. Please telephone or email your request and we will be happy to assist you. Gift vouchers are non-refundable, but we do allow our guests to upgrade or change their treatments.

Waiting for an appointment

To ensure that all guests enjoy peaceful treatments, we respectfully request that all visitors keep noise to a minimum whilst in the centre. Mobile phones and electronic devices are discouraged.

Payment

We accept cash payments and online credit or debit card payments. Due to unfortunate past experiences and the government’s intended phase-out of the use of cheques, we no longer accept them.
